Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 24, 2026
Slide Social ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and username (@handle).
- Profile Information: You may choose to add a profile emoji/avatar.
- Event Data: Information about events you create, including title, description, date, time, and location.
- Communications: Comments you post on events and your interactions with other users.
- Contact Information: If you choose to invite friends via SMS, we temporarily process phone numbers solely to send your invitation.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Create and manage your account
- Enable you to create events and invite friends
- Send push notifications about event updates, RSVPs, and comments
- Send one-time SMS invitations on your behalf (only when you initiate)
- Sync events to your calendar (when you enable this feature)
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
Calendar Integrations
Slide Social offers optional integrations with Apple Calendar and Google Calendar to help you keep track of events. These integrations are entirely opt-in and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings.
Apple Calendar
When you connect Apple Calendar, we request access to:
- Create calendar events for Slide activities you choose to sync
- Update those events when details change (time, location, description)
- Delete those events when you remove the sync or delete the event in Slide
We only interact with events created by Slide. We do not read or access your existing calendar events.
Google Calendar
When you connect Google Calendar, we request the following OAuth scope:
- calendar.events — Allows us to create, update, and delete calendar events
What we do:
- Create calendar events when you choose to sync a Slide event
- Update those events when event details change
- Delete those events when you remove the sync or delete the event in Slide
What we do NOT do:
- We do NOT read your existing calendar events
- We do NOT access your calendar availability or free/busy information
- We do NOT scan your calendar for any purpose
- We do NOT store any calendar data on our servers
- We do NOT share any calendar information with third parties
Calendar Data Storage
- We store only a mapping between Slide event IDs and calendar event IDs locally on your device
- This mapping is used solely to update or remove events we created
- No calendar data is transmitted to or stored on Slide servers
Disconnecting Calendar Access
- You can disconnect Apple Calendar or Google Calendar at any time in Settings → Calendars
- Disconnecting removes our access and clears all local sync data
- Events already added to your calendar will remain until you manually delete them
- For Google Calendar, you can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions
SMS Messaging
When you invite a contact who isn't on Slide, you may choose to send them an SMS invitation on your behalf. Key points:
- SMS is only sent when you initiate an invitation
- We send only event-specific, one-time messages—never marketing
- Recipients can reply STOP to opt out of future messages
- Standard message and data rates may apply
- We do not sell or share phone numbers for marketing purposes
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With other users: Your profile (name, username, avatar) is visible to friends and event participants.
- With service providers: We use third-party services (hosting, notifications, SMS) that process data on our behalf.
- For legal reasons: When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, update, or delete your account information
- Opt out of push notifications via device settings

- Revoke third-party access (e.g., Google) via their respective account settings
- Request a copy of your data
